May Gurney has engaged Donaldson Associates to verify the outline design, and complete the detailed design to NwR specifications and acceptance, for Middlesbrough and Huddersfield Access for all schemes; which are part of a national NwR initiative.

At Middlesborough the work includes detailed design of two new lifts for platforms 1 & 2 and asssociated platform works to allow step free access for passengers.

The Huddersfield project requires detailed design of lifts and stairs to allow step free access to platforms 1/2 and 4/5/6/8. The works are in and around the existing subway and invlove work on an island platform with its problems of access for plant and materials. Platform works for compliant DDA access are also included.
